Consumers spend $10,$20,$30,$40,$50,000 on Travel Trailers and hook them onto their car insurance policy.
Is that a smart thing to do? Would you have the right coverage if the Travel Trailer caught on fire while parked at a campground? Questionable.
If your personal property was destroyed, does your auto policy cover that? No.
If your awning was blown off from a gust of wind and hit another parked Travel Trailer, do you have coverage to pay for damages? Maybe.
A separate specialized policy can provide these essential benefits at reasonable rates. Sometimes matching the rate you were paying on the car policy.
